Our Halloween extravaganza started nearly a month ago at good ole Smallwood's Harvest. This local market, petting zoo, garden, cow train, park... is the 'have everything' go-to place for families with little one's. Each year (so I've been told, since this is our first year) they have lots of festivities for halloween. They have a huge fire pit, pumpkin patch, hay rides, mazes, just everything really.... we had a great time taking Kate here to pick out her pumpkin.
The first picture is the car Kate drove us in to get to Smallwoods. I had no idea she knew how to drive... without ever touching the steering wheel!
As you can see, the price for small kids is about the same as a pumpkin. Kate weighted in at 25lbs... expensive little girl at $0.39/lb, but we think she is well worth it!
The hay maze itself cost an extra $1 that Nate and were not willing to spend. We are trying to set boundaries early... you know how it goes... yes to all the candy, yes to 4 pumpkins, yes to the spontaneous 16lb box of apples (nothing to do with halloween)... but NO to $1 maze!! Anyhow, we snuck in to grab a picture, which was FREE... you just had to be fast!
We decided to take the wagon instead of the car back to checkout. Kate opted to ride with the pumpkins. We found one for each of us and a little extra one for the baby.
A few weeks later, it was pumpkin carving time. Kate really doesn't like to get her hands dirty, so you can see she's not so interested in carrying around the slimy pumpkin goo. Overall, she was quite the help though. She constantly grabbed the tops of the pumpkins, so they weren't in the way and placed them strategically throughout the kitchen. She also made sure the goo was no where near me and instead in various places throughout the house.

Late into the night... as shown by her PJs, the carving was done and Kate was able to enjoy her work. I'll look back on this picture and remember how little she was compared to those pumpkins! Time goes so fast!

Now these next pictures are from the past couple days. Kate was a pink cat. She actually enjoyed her costume quite a bit. She lost her balance a little and the hat usually landed right around eyesight, but overall she was the cutest little cat we saw out! In my eyes, she was the cutest of all the costumes!
The first night, Saturday, we took her down to the Halloween carnival. I've honestly never seen so many kids in my life. It was shoulder to shoulder in spots and extremely overwhelming for Kate. Kate litteraly put her buns on the ground at one point and refused to go any further. She was done!! We ended up carrying her the rest of the way and were able to get a couple more treats. At one point, a guy stuck candy in her bag and she grabbed it away from him so fast! I don't know if he scared her or if she thought he was TAKING the candy. Either way, it ws a milkyway and we were thankful it landed nicely in her bag and later in my hands :)

The end of our extravaganza was heading to our neighbors for ONE official door to say 'tricker or treat'. Isn't she the cutest, tail and all!
